Hyaluronic acid, also called hyaluronan, is a substance that is naturally present in the human body. It is found in the highest concentrations in fluids in the eyes and joints. The body makes hyaluronic acid naturally with the main function to keep tissues cushioned and well-lubricated. As people age, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases in the body. To compensate low levels, hyaluronic acid supplements are taken. Hyaluronic acid has a variety of uses. Besides taking it as a supplement, it is also used in topical serums, eye drops and injections. 

Some of the benefits of taking hyaluronic acid include: May promote healthier and supple skin. Natural aging process and exposure to UV radiation (sun), tobacco and pollution decrease certain levels in the skin. Taking hyaluronic acid supplements may prevent this decline by providing the body extra amounts to incorporate into the skin. May reduce joint discomfort. When joints are not lubricated, the bones are more likely to grind against each other and cause uncomfortable pain. Taking 100 – 200 mg daily for at least two months may help reduce these discomfort symptoms.

Suggested Use

Adults - take one capsule daily, preferably with food, as a dietary supplement.
